This is an update for GEI MEKONG’s waste-to-energy project in Vientiane, Laos.
Last week, the Laos Government agreed to provide a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) which will allocate 8 usd cents per KW for electricity produced by the waste-to-energy plant in Vientiane.
As such, the project capacity will be changed from using 3 x All Diesel plants, producing 45,000 litres of synthetic diesel per day to 4 x Hybrid plants which will now produce 8Mw’s of electricity and 45,000 litres of synthetic diesel per day.
The waste-to-energy plant will increase the amount of municipal waste it can process to 400 tonnes of fresh municipal waste per day.
