Ho Chi Minh City Announces Criteria For Waste Projects

The Ho chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources, Environment, Planning & Investment is taking positive action to solve the city’s massive waste issue, currenlty producing over 10,000 tonnes of waste per day.

Nguyễn Toàn Thắng, chairman of the city Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said qualified bidders should be able to process around 1,000 tonnes of solid waste a day and offer a reasonable price. Read Article

Other requirements for project companies are they must not use more than 10 hectares of land per 1,000 tonnes of trash a day, and the processing facility must be able to yield 15-20 kW per tonne of waste. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment aims to reduce the amount of waste disposed of by burying by half by 2020 and 80 per cent by 2025

GEI Mekong’s waste to energy technology exceeds these expectations whilst adhering to the highest EPA standards.
